MAKING TRANSTITION

You made it to Universitiy College, Now it's up to you to make it success.

The transition to University can be both stressful and exciting. You have left behind the familiar for something new.

1 KEEPING AN OPEN MIND AND EMBRACE CHANGES.
Once you step into the university , you will encounter many new experiences, both good and bad, e.g. culture shock, home sickness, time management issues and having to live independently with newfound freedom. So don't be supprised if you find yourself feeling stressed, insecure or nervous. Just remember you are not alone in this.
How to manage this? Talk to someone about it. Sometimes it's about giving yourself time to adjust and / or it's about accepting the differences in others especially when everyone in university comes all walks of life. All the times you need to tolerate, accept or learn to be assertive. This is the most true if you are from different state or country. The challenge is to be who you are without compromissing your values while respecting the values of others.

2 YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR TIME
For many of us, university life means more freedom. Along with this newfound freedom. Along with this newfound freedom responsibility follows. Being responsible involves being able to manage your time, which may seem easy in theory. However , you may not be used to the amunt of work that university lecturers expect. You may find yourself  struggling to balance commitment to studies, clubd or societies, family and social life all at once ! Used a planner to help you stay organised. Set aside time for your coursework, then  determine the extracurricular activities you will have time for.

3 TAKE ACTION, TAKE CHARGE
In unversiti , there are many activities that you can join e.g. clubs, sport and orientation activities. These are opportunities where you can challenge yourself to develop communication , leadership and teamwork to  become a well-rounded individual. Nevertheless, do more careful not to let these activities interfere with your studies.

4 MONEY WOES
Budgeting is tough, especially when you see some friends spending on nice clothes and food. Well, the challenges is learning to live within your means. How? Budget our money for the semester by allocation an amount for food, travel, books, etc and keeping tract of it! Good luck!!!

5 STUDY SMART
A major trap students fall into is enjoying themselves before discovering they cannot catch up with their studies. So start off studying a lot more than you think you will need to. Then, adjust your study habits from there. Decide on your study schedule. Learn to used small blocks of time e.g. time between classes. Rather than waiting to study later, try to study immediately following class when the lecture is fresh in your mind. Revise again the night before the next class. You wil the supprised at how much more you can retain and understand. You will find you are able to take charge of your life.

6 PREPARING FOR YOUR EXAMS
Exam are a fact of life no matter how much you wish to avoid it. Studying last minutes for exam is not the way to go. Cramming until the wee hours of the morning is not what it promise. Reviewing concept/ formulas just before sleep at night before exam may hel to reinforce what was learn beforehand. Most importantly , get plenty of sleep the night before.

THIS IS MY RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS WEEK.. ENJOY THE MUSIC!!!
